JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Cybersecurity Analyst
Summary/Objective:
The Cybersecurity Analyst plays a key role in supporting the organization’s Information Security operations. This role is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing a range of cybersecurity tools and technologies to protect the organization’s systems and data. It provides hands-on experience with industry-leading security platforms and contributes directly to the effectiveness and maturity of our overall security posture.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Tool Management and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools and software.
- Ensure tools are up-to-date with the latest patches and updates.
- Perform regular system checks and maintenance tasks to ensure tool availability and performance.
Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitor security tools and systems for alerts and anomalies.
- Assist in the investigation and analysis of security incidents and events.
- Generate and review security reports from various tools to identify potential threats.
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide first-level support for cybersecurity tool-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with security tools and systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document configurations, processes, and procedures for cybersecurity tools.
- Maintain accurate records of tool configurations and changes.
- Prepare reports and documentation for management and audit purposes.
Security Awareness and Training:
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
- Assist in conducting security awareness training for employees.
- Comply with all established policies (General, Security of Information, Compliance) and Standards of conduct established by KM2. Your duties will include but not be restricted to the above.
- Other responsibilities or duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Education / Experience / Credentials
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Prior internship or practical experience in a cybersecurity or IT role.
